They contain more than photos of American furniture and utensils. It covers the period from to the end of the Empire Period, which, according to Nutting, "brings us to the beginning of the degraded styles. In it he supplied additional details concerning styles, dates, construction, and origins of the items in previous volumes.
It also provided a listing of early American clock makers, which supplemented another book that he wrote, The Clock Book. Unlike the first two volumes of the Furniture Treasury, volume 3 had no photographs. Square, tight and clean throughout with perhaps a hint of wear to spine ends and tips but very minor. Extremely well-preserved, particularly for a book of this size and weight. From the library of George Howell, noted year Architect of Rutgers University with his bookplate affixed to the front paste-down. A beautiful collectable copy of a quite uncommon title. WIll certainly require some extra postage as this is an extremely heavy book.
Both volumes are near fine in brown cloth-covered boards. Light shelfwear. Errata slip tipped in. Not paginated..
